JEALOUSY can stir up strong emotions and the urge to test a partner’s fidelity

Using a POLYGRAPH lie detector or a PSYCHOLOGIST to resolve trust issues can have its advantages, limitations and drawbacks.

Practice shows that only a POLYGRAPH and a PSYCHOLOGIST TOGETHER can produce results. Why is that?

Looking for an answer rather than signs? There are two ways to find out for sure: the VerifEye online test (from 2,500 UAH (≈ €50), with no need to visit an office) or a classic polygraph — calculate the cost.

A psychologist can give you and your partner a space for open communication, help you understand the causes of the jealousy and work on improving trust and communication in your relationship.

There is ONE drawback: if there are FACTS from the past that are hard to explain and need to be checked for lies – a psychologist will NEVER achieve the goal.

Only in this case is a lie detector useful – because it alone can settle the question of verifying past facts, and it lays the FOUNDATION for joint work with a psychologist.

As our 14 years of practice show, this produces results. It is very important that the jealous partner has already experienced the lie detector personally – we almost always show how everything works, allow them to be present during the testing and do EVERYTHING to convince the jealous partner that EVERYTHING HERE IS HONEST.

It is often hard to persuade a jealous person to agree to a test, even for a psychologist or for the person who wants to PROVE the truth – it takes a great deal of confidence, openness and persistence.

Here are some recommendations that may help:

• 1. Open communication: talk to your partner frankly and calmly about your doubts, your concerns and the need for a test. Explain why exactly it is important for you to do this and how it can help solve your shared problems.
• 2. Identifying resources: tell your partner about your own positive experience with the lie detector, including how it works and what answers it gave you to your own questions. Share information about research and reviews that confirm the effectiveness and qualifications of the specialist.
• 3. Consider your partner’s feelings: it is important to show understanding of your partner’s feelings and state of mind. Listen to their thoughts and feelings about taking the test and take them into account in your own arguments. Make it clear that you understand this may be stressful for your partner.
• 4. Offer support: offer your support and say that you will be together throughout the whole process. Make it clear that this is an attempt to solve SHARED problems. Explain that everything is confidential and that they can try out how it all works.
• 5. Talk about the next steps: consider every option for breaking the deadlock and restoring trust, such as couples therapy or counselling with a psychologist. Find compromise solutions that take both sides into account.

It is important to remember that the decision to take a lie detector test should be made by mutual consent. Make the decision together, think about the possible consequences and try to find ways to improve mutual understanding and trust in your relationship.

With the client’s permission, we are publishing a letter in which he asks his wife to take a polygraph test at a time when jealousy had brought their relationship to the brink of a break-up. It is an example of a polygraph test combined with a psychologist’s help saving a family.
