EyeDetect testing in Kyiv: the eye-based lie detector

EyeDetect testing in Kyiv is a modern, contactless method of detecting deception that analyses eye movements and the brain’s cognitive responses while a person answers questions. Unlike the classic polygraph, EyeDetect does not require sensors to be attached to the body, and it produces a result much faster.

Need a test rather than theory? Take the VerifEye online test — from 2,500 UAH (≈ €50), no office visit — or calculate the cost of a polygraph test.

EyeDetect is an eye-based lie detector that is widely used in business, by security services and for private tests. In Kyiv, this technology is becoming increasingly popular as an effective alternative to the polygraph. At present we conduct the EyeDetect test at the station in Lviv; for clients in Kyiv there is its online counterpart — VerifEye on a smartphone — or we will recommend a fellow polygraph examiner.

What EyeDetect is and how the test works

EyeDetect is a psychophysiological deception detection system developed by Converus.
The technology is based on oculography — the analysis of eye movements and pupil responses.

When a person lies, their brain works under increased cognitive load. This automatically shows up in:

• changes in pupil diameter;
• the speed of eye movements;
• blink rate;
• delays while reading and answering.

These reactions are involuntary and cannot be consciously controlled, which makes EyeDetect an effective tool for verifying the truth.

How EyeDetect testing in Kyiv works

The procedure is as comfortable as possible and does not cause stress:

1. A briefing before the test.
2. Calibrating the camera to the examinee’s eyes.
3. A practice round to get used to the process.
4. The main test (answering questions in a True / False format).
5. Automatic data processing by the system.
6. Receiving the result as a report.

⏱ Test duration: up to 45 minutes, including the result.

EyeDetect or polygraph: which is better

👉 Conclusion: EyeDetect does not replace the polygraph in complex examinations, but it far outperforms it as a fast and objective method of initial screening.

Can EyeDetect be fooled

The short answer: it is extremely difficult.

EyeDetect analyses involuntary eye reactions that are regulated by the autonomic nervous system. Even when a person tries to control their behaviour or prepare for the test, the system records the cognitive load that comes with lying.

⚠️ Important: EyeDetect is not a “verdict”; it is used as a verification tool together with an analysis of the facts.
