How it works
What an eye-based lie detector records
When a person lies, the brain works harder, and this shows in the eyes before they can hide it. The EyeDetect infrared camera tracks the eyes, and the Converus algorithm evaluates over 60 factors per second. Among them:
- pupil dilation by fractions of a millimetre
- how the person reads the statements: speed, re-reading, fixations
- the time and accuracy of each answer
The algorithm weighs dozens of measurements into one credibility score. The conclusion is not made by a person, so the result does not depend on the specialist’s impression.

The whole visit takes about an hour; the test itself 30–45 minutes.

“Looking to the left means lying”
Myth. NLP claims about gaze direction have no scientific support. EyeDetect looks not at where the eyes go, but at how they work under load.
“Camera lie detector” apps
Most are entertainment with no method behind them. Real eye-based tests are EyeDetect and VerifEye by Converus, with laboratory validation.
Can you cheat the test?
The pupil cannot be controlled consciously, and the statements change every 5–7 seconds. Random answers make the test invalid — then we repeat it at our expense.

FAQ
How accurate is EyeDetect?
According to Converus — 86–90% depending on the test type (88% in screening tests, 90% in single-question diagnostic tests). This is the share of correct results among tests with a definite result; inconclusive tests are repeated at our expense.
How many questions can be tested?
One to three in one test. The fewer the questions, the higher the accuracy for each. Questions are only about specific facts and actions over a specific period.
Is it legal?
Yes, if the person takes the test voluntarily and agrees in writing. Minors — only with their parents’ written consent and in their presence.
Can the report be used in court?
No, the result is not evidence in court in Ukraine. It helps you make a decision. On request we prepare a specialist’s cover letter for the PDF report.
How to prepare?
Get enough sleep, no alcohol for a day before, bring your glasses if you wear them. We do not test people who are intoxicated.
What language is the test in?
Ukrainian, Russian, English or German.
